In more than one occasion I have discussed how metabolism affects our weight loss. Metabolism is our body’s ability to burn calories and therefore lose weight if we can accelerate more easily. While there is no quick fix yes there are certain steps you can take to speed up your metabolism. Know what they are.

Step 1: First, never skip breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day and already in the morning you need to keep your metabolism working.

Step 2: Eat protein. Try to eat lean protein with every meal. While other foods like carbohydrates you will boost your metabolism proteins are an excellent choice.

Step 3: Make frequent, small meals. When you eat well your metabolism slows down, trying to conserve energy. Often those who are put on diets eat too little with the goal of losing weight. However, this is counterproductive because it slows the metabolism.

Step 4: Drink lots of water. We all know that water is good for our body and drink 8 to 10 glasses a day will keep your body functioning properly.

Step 5: Drink green tea. Studies suggest that green tea not only has antioxidant properties but also can boost metabolism and help you lose weight. (more…)
