With origins dating back more than 4000 years, green tea has long been a popular drink in the Asian culture and is gaining increasing popularity in the United States
And while the former Chinese medicine and Japanese believe that the consumption of green tea could cure diseases and heal the wounds, the recent scientific studies are beginning to establish the potential benefits for the health of drink green tea, especially in the weight loss, the health of the heart and cancer prevention.
A study recently published in the Journal of Period ontology, the official publication of the American Academy of Period ontology (PSA), discovered another benefit of the consumption of green tea.
The researchers found that the usual intake of green tea can also contribute to promoting healthy teeth and gums.
The study analyzed periodontal health of 940 men, and found that those who regularly drank green tea, periodontal health were better, that those who do not consumed.
“There has been speculation that the green tea has a series of health benefits,” said study author Dr. Yoshihiro Shimazaki of Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan. (more…)
