A coffee extract could inhibit the bacteria that give rise to bad breath, since in laboratory tests have shown that the extract prevents bacteria smelly, according to the investigation of the University of Tel Aviv carried out by the renowned specialist Prof. Mel Rosenberg of the Faculty Sackler of Medicine.
“Everyone thinks that the coffee cause bad breath” and often is true, because the coffee has a dehydrator effect in the mouth, it becomes powerful if mixed with milk, brewing and in substances badly decaying”.
But not always. “Contrary to our expectations, we have found some components of coffee actually inhibit the bad breath”, and the results were presented to the International Society for Research for the encouragement in Germany.
In the study used three different brands of coffee to be tested: the Israeli, Turkish coffee, and Taster’s Choice, with whom hoped to show the effect that causes the bad smell of coffee in an in vitro testing on the saliva, but to his surprise, extracts took the opposite effect. (more…)
