Continuously alcohol is present in our lives in some way. For example, in one night with friends or a glass of wine accompanied the meal. As we have seen some studies suggest that moderate consumption of certain types of alcohol is beneficial for heart health and cancer prevention. Now, how does one drink can affect your skin?

The water we drink our moisturizes your skin internally. For this reason, keep well hydrated will help soften the skin wrinkles and have a younger and more attractive. However, the alcohol with other beverages such as coffee or soft drinks has the opposite effect.

Alcoholic beverages dehydrate us and, therefore, undermine the vital nutrients of the skin, making it not look as good as it could. In addition, doctors have found that those heavy drinkers tend to have a less healthy diet, which already can deprive the skin of nutrients.

If you suffer from a skin problem of excessive alcohol consumption may worsen it. Alcohol consumption can exacerbate rosaceous and psoriasis. That’s why dermatologists recommend minimize their intake to avoid these problems.

If you drink alcohol the best advice we can give you is that moderate drinking. This is the best way to avoid negative side effects. Also keep in mind that water will always help you to counteract the dehydration caused by alcohol consumption.

In more than one occasion I have discussed how metabolism affects our weight loss. Metabolism is our body’s ability to burn calories and therefore lose weight if we can accelerate more easily. While there is no quick fix yes there are certain steps you can take to speed up your metabolism. Know what they are.

Step 1: First, never skip breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day and already in the morning you need to keep your metabolism working.

Step 2: Eat protein. Try to eat lean protein with every meal. While other foods like carbohydrates you will boost your metabolism proteins are an excellent choice.

Step 3: Make frequent, small meals. When you eat well your metabolism slows down, trying to conserve energy. Often those who are put on diets eat too little with the goal of losing weight. However, this is counterproductive because it slows the metabolism.

Step 4: Drink lots of water. We all know that water is good for our body and drink 8 to 10 glasses a day will keep your body functioning properly.

Step 5: Drink green tea. Studies suggest that green tea not only has antioxidant properties but also can boost metabolism and help you lose weight. (more…)

Perhaps more than one occasion you have wondered: is it possible to lose weight without reducing the amount of food consumption? It seems that it is and how to do it is only through the practice of exercise, but eating more slowly. Yes, as well as hear it.

The mandometer, a small device designed by Swedish Professor Per Sodersten (Karolinska Institute, Stockholm), calculates the speed at which you eat and transmits this information to a computer. In this way one can discover if you eat too fast or not. The aim of this unit is to solve the problems caused by poor eating habits. Efforts are made to be eaten in small amounts and more slowly.

In fact, a study based on a group of 106 overweight youth (9 to 17 years) published by the British Medical Journal, shows that eating more slowly can be an effective weapon to fight obesity.

The researchers responsible for this study, conducted by British professor Julian Hamilton-Shield, said that initially the teenagers ate too fast. After a year of using mandometer began to eat less and reduced speed by 11%. Thanks to its new way of eating these adolescents lost weight. Your BMI (body mass index) declined an average rate of 2.1%.

Through this example you will notice the importance of being aware of your bad eating habits and how important it is to eradicate (mandometer in between or not).
